What sits on top of the day rate?
Three extras do most of the moving. A driver or operator costs £300 per driver per day. We charge a flat £400 for delivery and collection however many vehicles you hire (typical market totals run £150 to £500 depending on distance), and it is a fixed cost whether you hire for two days or ten. A managed shuttle service, with coordination, signage and multi-vehicle scheduling, typically adds 10 to 18 per cent. When you compare quotes, compare them like for like on these inclusions: the headline day rate is rarely the whole story.
How duration changes the price
Longer hires cost more in total but less per day. A hire of a week or more earns around 18 per cent off the per-day rate, and a fortnight or more around 25 per cent, because fixed costs, delivery above all, are spread across more days.
