Cookie Notice
This notice explains how Hawke Electric Vehicles uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) on this website, what they do, how long they last, and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Notice.
How we ask for your consent
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. In line with UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and the UK GDPR), non-essential and analytics technologies do not load until you accept, and declining is as easy as accepting. Your choice is stored on your device and you can change it at any time (see Managing your choices).
Strictly necessary (no consent required)
A small number of cookies and local-storage entries are essential for the site to function and so do not require consent. These include:
- Remembering your cookie-consent choice (so we do not ask repeatedly).
- Remembering a vehicle build or configuration you have saved on your device.
- Keeping you signed in and secure if you use an account, and protecting forms and the site against abuse and fraud.
Site analytics and security (no device identifier without consent)
To run and protect the site and to manage our sales enquiries, our server records basic usage of each visit — the pages viewed, links and vehicles clicked, the page you arrived from, time on the site, and your IP address with the approximate location it indicates. This is our legitimate interest. Where this is tied to your visit we do not store a lasting identifier on your device unless you accept below; without acceptance any identifier lasts only for the current browsing session.
Session replay and richer analytics (consent required)
If you accept, we also use analytics such as Microsoft Clarity and, where enabled, Google Analytics (GA4) to keep a longer-lived, anonymised identifier, to record an anonymised replay of your visit (such as mouse movement and clicks, with sensitive text masked) and to build heatmaps, so we can see what is and isn't working and improve the site. These technologies do not load unless you have accepted, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data to advertisers. Our providers (for example our hosting, content and analytics providers) set technologies only as described above and act on our instructions.
Managing your choices
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page, which brings the consent banner back so you can make a fresh choice. You can also clear this site's data in your browser, or block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect some features, such as a saved build or staying signed in.
