Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to use the Hawke Electric Vehicles website, including disabled people and people using assistive technology. This statement explains our approach, what we have done, known limitations, and how to get help.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and to treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build and maintain the site. We also recognise our duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage.

What we have done

The site is built mobile-first and includes:

  • Semantic headings and structure, and descriptive alternative text on content images.
  • Full keyboard operability with visible focus, including for menus, accordions and forms.
  • Sufficient colour contrast and a clean, high-legibility design.
  • Support for the operating system 'reduce motion' setting, so animation is reduced for those who prefer it.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels on mobile, and a responsive layout that works across screen sizes.

How we test

We test the site with automated accessibility tooling and across browsers and screen sizes, and we resolve serious and critical issues before release. Accessibility is also considered when we add new features.

Compatibility

The site is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers and with common assistive technologies such as screen readers and zoom. If you use an older browser or a particular assistive technology and something does not work, please tell us.

Known limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing effort and some content, including some third-party or older content, is still being improved. We are committed to fixing issues as we find them or as they are reported to us.
