Burden Carriers
A burden carrier earns its keep moving things from one end of a site to the other: tools to a job, stock to a line, parts to a bay, waste back to the skip. Our electric burden carriers do that on a flat load bed, quietly and cleanly, indoors and out. They are working site trucks, sized to your loads, access and shift length rather than sold to a spec sheet. Where the job is pulling trailers rather than carrying, we will point you to a tow tractor instead.
In brief
An electric burden carrier is a battery-powered site truck that carries loads, tools, materials, stock or waste, on a flat load bed from one part of a site to another. It carries the load itself, unlike a tow tractor, which pulls trailers behind it.

A burden carrier carries the load on its own bed. A tow tractor pulls trailers behind it, and a pickup or tipper is really a carrier with a bed that tips. If your work is moving discrete loads, tools, stock, parts, waste, from point to point, a burden carrier is the right tool. If you are hauling trains of trailers, look at a tow tractor instead.

Three things decide the vehicle, and they pull against each other. A heavier payload and a bigger bed mean a longer, wider truck that struggles through narrow aisles, doorways and gates. We size all three to your real loads and your tightest access point, rather than sell the biggest bed and leave it stranded at a doorway.

Fully electric means no exhaust and near-silent running, so a burden carrier works inside a warehouse, plant or building without fumes or ventilation worries, then crosses the yard outside on the same charge. For sites that move loads both indoors and out, one clean vehicle covers the whole route rather than swapping between machines.
Battery choice follows duty. Lead-acid keeps the cost down and suits single-shift work that charges overnight. Lithium holds up better across long or double shifts, tolerates opportunity charging in breaks, and needs less maintenance. We match the battery to how many hours the truck actually runs so it lasts the day without a swap.
We rate payload against real figures, not optimistic ones, so you can load with confidence and not overstress the truck. Each vehicle is configured and branded to your specification, with a 3-year warranty, UK-wide servicing and parts, and a 24-hour priority call-out to keep your material moving.
Each is configured to your specification, then finished and delivered ready to run.
