Electric utility vehicles for ports and harbours

Electric utility vehicles for ports and harbours

Crew and cargo, moved cleanly across the quay.

Overview

Why ports and harbours choose Hawke Electric Vehicles

A working port or harbour covers a lot of exposed ground: quays, jetties, yards and marina walkways, with crew, equipment and stores moving between them in all weather. Electric utility vehicles carry the people and the loads without adding exhaust to an already busy waterside, and without the noise that carries across open water. Specified for the surfaces and the salt air, with weather protection for the crew, they become the dependable runabout that keeps a marine site moving, at a lower running cost than the diesel they replace.

FAQ

Ports & Harbours questions, answered

Do you supply container or heavy dockside handlers?+

No. We supply crew personnel vehicles and utility load carriers, with towing within a rated capacity. For container handling or heavy dockside plant a dedicated machine is the right tool, and we will say so rather than overstate what our vehicles do.

Will they cope with a salt-air, wet environment?+

We specify weather protection, corrosion-aware finishing and appropriate tyres for wet quays and yards. We survey the conditions and specify the vehicle to stand up to a marine site.

Can they carry crew across a large port?+

Yes. Personnel vehicles from eight seats up to a shuttle move crew and visitors between the gate, offices and berths, with weather protection for an exposed site.

How much can the utility models carry and tow?+

From several hundred kilograms to a tonne or more in the bed, with towing rated separately for wheeled equipment and small trailers. We quote real figures for the model we recommend.

How are they supported at a working port?+

Every vehicle carries a 3-year warranty and a 24-hour priority call-out, since downtime at a port is costly. Servicing is planned around your operation.
