Road Legal
Most estate, grounds and site work happens on private land, where a standard electric vehicle is exactly right. But some sites need to cross or travel a short stretch of public road between areas, and that is where road legality matters and where honesty matters more. A vehicle is only road legal in the UK if it is genuinely type-approved and registered for the road, and we would rather specify that correctly than imply an ordinary buggy qualifies. Where you need a road-legal build, we advise on what it requires and configure the vehicle to suit.

Using a vehicle on a public road in the UK brings specific requirements around type approval, registration, lighting, and driver and insurance obligations. A buggy built for private land does not automatically meet them. We set out plainly what applies rather than gloss over it.

If all your movement is on private drives, parkland, campus or site, you generally do not need a road-legal vehicle at all, and a standard build is simpler and cheaper. The question only arises where a vehicle must genuinely use or cross a public road. We help you work out which case you are in.

Where a road-legal specification is genuinely required, we advise on what that involves for your use and specify the vehicle accordingly, rather than sell a standard buggy and leave you exposed. We would rather get this right than win a sale on a false claim.
We will not describe our standard vehicles as road legal when they are not, and we will tell you where your intended use needs a different specification or a different vehicle entirely. That honesty is the point of this page.

No. Our standard vehicles are built for private land, which is where the great majority of estate, grounds and site movement happens. Road legality in the UK requires a genuinely type-approved, registered specification, and we advise honestly on that rather than imply an ordinary buggy qualifies.
