A quiet electric fleet for a Cotswolds country estate

A large private estate in the Cotswolds wanted to move away from ageing petrol buggies that were noisy near the main house and expensive to run, and to bring the working fleet up to the standard of the estate itself. This example shows how we specified a mixed electric fleet for both grounds work and guest transport.

Priority call-out included

An illustrative example project: client details are anonymised by type and region; the vehicles, configurations and outcomes reflect how we specify and support a fleet.

The brief

The estate ran a handful of tired petrol vehicles that struggled on wet, sloping ground, disturbed guests and wildlife at dawn, and looked out of place against the house. The brief was a single quiet, clean fleet that could carry tools and timber for the grounds team, move guests between the house and the gardens, and be finished so it never looked agricultural.

What we built

We specified a mixed fleet: four-seat passenger buggies for guest transport around the grounds and a utility model with a tipping cargo bed for the grounds and forestry team, all on lithium batteries for a full day's work and an overnight charge. Bodywork and trim were finished in the estate's colours so the working fleet reads as part of the estate rather than a collection of borrowed machines.

The result

The estate now runs near-silently at dawn without disturbing guests or wildlife, the grounds team has a vehicle that copes with wet ground and gradients, and the fleet is finished to a standard guests notice. A single service plan with priority call-out keeps everything running through the season.

The estate wanted the working fleet to disappear into the setting — quiet, clean and finished so a guest never gives it a second look. That is exactly what an electric fleet, specified properly, delivers.
