Electric Golf Carts for Film and TV Production

Electric Golf Carts for Film and TV Production

Move cast, crew and gear across backlots, studios and locations near-silently, so nothing ever spoils a take.

Overview

Why film and television choose Hawke Electric Vehicles

On a production, every minute counts and noise is the enemy of a clean take. Our electric golf carts move cast, crew, equipment and production gear across backlots, studios and far-flung locations with near-silent running that stays out of the soundtrack. Discreet, blacked-out finishes and flexible load and passenger configurations keep them invisible on camera and dependable against a shooting schedule.

Why us

What sets the fleet apart

Near-silent on set

Quiet electric running stays out of the sound mix so a cart can move close to a live set without spoiling a take.

Discreet blacked-out finishes

Matte, low-key finishes keep vehicles unobtrusive on a backlot and easy to keep out of shot.

Flexible load and seating

Reconfigure between passenger and load layouts to carry crew one moment and equipment the next.

Reliable to schedule

Dependable running keeps to a tight shooting schedule where lost time is lost money.

Clean running on location

Zero fumes means vehicles run inside sound stages and sensitive locations without ventilation problems.

Cast and crew transfers

Shuttle cast, crew and visitors between trailers, sets and unit base across a large site.

FAQ

Film & Television questions, answered

Which model suits a production unit?+

The Hawke S8 is a true unit shuttle for cast and crew, while the Hawke S6 suits smaller units and rapid moves. The Hawke S2 Pickup handles equipment, and a Bespoke build covers picture vehicles. Most productions take a mix for the dates.

Can you build a bespoke picture vehicle?+

Yes. Bespoke commissions cover period liveries, branded set dressing and engineered conversions to your production's exact brief, built to the production design. We can also wrap standard fleet vehicles for a unit identity or sponsor.

Are they quiet enough to use during takes?+

Yes. Electric drivetrains are near-silent, so vehicles can move on or near set without spoiling sound, on locations where a gas engine cannot run. That, with zero fumes, is the core reason productions choose electric.

Can they access heritage and noise-sensitive sites?+

Yes. Zero fumes and near-silent running suit heritage interiors and protected natural locations where air quality and noise are conditions of access. The fleet moves people and kit between setups without disturbing the site.

Will the fleet last a long shoot day?+

Yes. Lithium batteries are specified for sustained stop-start running across a full day, and we plan charging at unit base for early calls. Charging is staggered across larger fleets, with fast-charge options where a shoot runs into the night.

Are they road legal between locations?+

On location and unit base they run on private land. Where a route uses a public road, only a genuinely type-approved specification is road legal, and we advise honestly on what that requires rather than imply a standard cart qualifies.

Do productions hire or buy?+

Most productions take vehicles for the dates, including bespoke picture vehicles built to brief, and we deliver to location. Studios and facilities with continuous work sometimes buy. We recommend whichever genuinely suits the production.

How quickly can you support a shoot?+

Every build carries a 3-year warranty and a 24-hour priority call-out, so support is there across a shoot when the schedule has no slack. We plan cover and a charging routine with the production before the first call.
